This project was a collaboration with Intel and hardware entrepreneurs who had been accepted to their incubator program. The premise of the program was to include Intel technology in the product. I focused on strategy, value proposition development, ID, UX concepting and a nod to branding.
The project started with a focus on fishtank enthusiasts, aiming to create a smart power strip for fishtank equipment.. Upon investigation into the use of power strips in general, one common problem I found was that power supplies often block adjacent outlets. A rotating outlet would solve for this and lent itself to a cleaner form that could have mass appeal. This allowed me to convince the client to think beyond their original demographic.
